Playlist Storytellers is a live event where a curated group of people share personal stories about a song that found them at the right time. After each story is told, the song plays for the audience.

How a PLST Show Works
Our team curates four interesting stories to feature on each show
Those people share a ten minute, personal story with the audience
After the story, the lights go down and the audience listens to the song together
Our goal with each show is to give the audience the best experience possible. To achieve this we focus on three things:
Story Direction. Each person featured on the show works with our Story Director, Jacob Kelly, three weeks leading up to the show
Audio Experience. The show features pre-recorded audio intros and high quality sound systems to be immersed in the experience
Show Length. The show is 70 min long without an intermission. We aim for production value greater than a stand up set.
Welcome to the second life of a song
We believe that every song has two lives — the life before a song is released and the life afterwards. The first life is the context behind the creation of the song. Ever listened to Song Exploder or watched Diary of a Song by New York Times? That’s the first life. The ‘how’ and ‘why’ an artist created the song.
We think the second life is where the most cinematic stories live. The second life is how a song plays a character or a role in anyone’s life once it’s released to the public. We all have a song that’s found us a pivotal point in life.
We’re on a mission to build a stage for stories from the second life of a song.
